Release 140

Release 140 closes out a chapter. Most of the last year has been about modernising the admin experience piece by piece, and this release brings two of the final pieces across the line: the content module editors are now fully modernised, and managers get their own rebuilt "My boardees" area. It is steady, finishing work rather than fireworks, and that is the point: the admin surfaces people use every day are now consistent end to end.

Improvements

🎯New ''My Boardees'' Experience

For managers, "My boardees" is where they keep an eye on the people they are responsible for, so it matters that it is fast and consistent with the rest of the product. This release rebuilds it on the modern front-end: the boardee list, the boardee profile, and the Tasks tab on that profile. Managers keep exactly the scope and permissions they have today, so they still only see the boardees they are a contact for, but on a faster, cleaner surface that matches the new Onboardees pages admins already have. This replaces the older embedded page.

🎯New Module Editor

Pulse Check and Test Yourself were the last two content modules still on the old editor. With this release they move to the modern front-end, which means every module a content admin creates now uses the same editing pattern. Each editor is now a single page that handles create, edit, view and translate together, with the module, its items and its questions (and answers, for Test Yourself) in one place instead of spread across separate pages. That is less clicking around for the people who build onboarding content, and it makes translations easier to manage.

🎯Choose half or full width for more content modules

Content admins can now set whether a module displays at half or full width directly in the module editor, starting with Your Contacts and Learning Pages. Learning Pages had its own separate width control before; it now uses the same shared control as everything else, so the setting behaves consistently and we can switch it on for more module types later without rebuilding it each time.

🎯Under the hood: more reliable Talentech ID provisioning

This one has no in-product change for admins or boardees, but it matters for the portfolio. We unified how Talmundo keeps users in sync with Talentech ID into a single, predictable reconcile that runs whenever a user is created or updated.

Previously a user with no roles could be saved in Talmundo but never created in the shared Talentech tenant until something else triggered a sync, which left gaps. Now provisioning is consistent, which is the groundwork that keeps users correctly present across the Talentech portfolio and, in time, the app switcher and cross-sell between products.

Relevant for our Nordic customers who already run more than one Talentech product.

Bug fixes and smaller improvements

We keep the boarding product in good shape release on release. This one clears a cluster of fixes on the newly rebuilt Tasks and boardee pages, plus a permissions fix worth calling out.

🐞Creating a task with a start-date-relative schedule works again. On the new task page, choosing "create task for boardees starting after" and setting a date left the task unable to save, which blocked a common scheduling flow. Fixed.

🐞 Task descriptions: formatting, links and paste all work again. On the new task page the rich text editor was missing, adding a hyperlink froze the editor and lost the typed text, and pasting text into the description did nothing. All fixed, so admins and managers can write task descriptions properly: format text, add links (for example to a policy or document), and paste in content prepared elsewhere without retyping.

🐞My Tasks search finds people by name again. A regression in release 139 meant the My Tasks search matched task titles only. Key contacts managing several boardees could no longer pull up one person's tasks in a single pass.
Search now matches boardee and key contact names again.

🐞Task lists show each task's own assignee filters again. On the rebuilt Assigned Tasks and My Tasks pages the filters had stopped reflecting the person each task belongs to and showed one generic page-wide list instead, so managers could no longer filter by a task assignee's own attributes such as department or location. The per-assignee filters are back.

🐞My Tasks can search by person again. The search-by-user dropdown that Assigned Tasks already has was missing from My Tasks, so a key contact could not narrow their own task list down to a single employee. It is back, scoped to your own tasks.

🐞 Introduce Yourself videos show on the new boardee profile. Submitted Introduce Yourself videos were not rendering on the rebuilt boardee profile, so colleagues and admins could not see them. Fixed.

🐞Roles without Filters or Key contact permissions can create onboardees again. Admins whose role had Filters and Key contact permissions set to None were blocked from creating onboardees entirely, because those sections were required in the creation flow. Those permissions now govern only managing filters and key contacts, not whether you can create an onboardee. (

🐞Admin API user updates no longer fail for users not yet in Talentech ID. Updating a user through the Admin API on a Talentech ID company failed with a server error if that user did not exist in Talentech ID yet, which is a normal case for a new hire or a freshly migrated company. The update now creates the user and continues. Worth noting for anyone running integrations against the Admin API.

Minor: the boardee create page heading now reads correctly on offboarding templates instead of using onboarding copy.

Coming next🚨

The next release opens a new thread of work: control over who can be assigned as a key contact.

Today any user in the organisation can be picked as a contact in any Key Contact Group, which for large tenants means choosing from thousands of names, and a boardee can even end up as a contact on their own journey. The upcoming Key Contact Group limits let admins restrict, per group and per template, who is eligible to be assigned: by role, by filter, or by excluding the boardee themselves.
It is a governance and privacy control, so only the right people become key contacts and only appropriate people gain access to boardee data, a strong fit for our Nordic public-sector customers. It rolls out gradually behind a feature switch, off by default and inert until an admin configures it, and the same eligibility rules are being built to extend across the ATS to boarding journey, supporting the cross-sell story.
